We have had a great day today. We have learnt lots about Easter round the fire pit, in the Woods, doing art work and making Easter gardens.
We have been learning about multiplication in maths this week, understanding the symbol X as 'groups of'. The children have been able to show their understanding by making groups practically. In Literacy the children wrote beautiful shape poems about volcanoes and have been busy making some special cards...
Reports were sent home today, please find it in their bag.
A quick reminder about the trip on Monday to Hilbert Park:
Children need to come in their own clothes. We are going to be explorers so if they want to wear a cap or bring binoculars they can. Weather permitting we are going to have our lunch at the park (the kitchen are preparing us pack lunches) and be back at school for the afternoon. Thank you to all of you who are available to join us on Monday - please come to the classroom with your child in the morning. We must insist that siblings / dogs may not accompany us.
For an end of term treat we are planning to watch 'The Good Dinosaur'. As this is a 'PG' please let us know if you do not want your child to watch it.
Next Friday the PTA are kindly organising an Easter Egg Hunt for next Friday - children do not need to bring anything in for this.
Next week we are going to make Easter nests using rice crispies, milk chocolate and milk chocolate mini eggs. Children will be taking these home, not eating them at school. If your child has an allergy or intolerance, please let us know as you will be required to supply alternative ingredients (children who have an allergy or intolerance would be very welcome to make their nest for somebody at home if you would prefer).
Have a great weekend,
The Ash Class Team
