What a busy week!
In English the children have planned and written a story about the adventures of our dinosaur. They have been focusing on using 'ed' endings and writing in the past tense.
In maths, we have been exploring fractions; finding half and a quarter of a number. We have also been doubling numbers and recognising that doubling and halving are the opposite of each other.
In science the children have continued to look at the differences between reptiles and amphibians.
We have finished painting our volcanoes and are looking forward to making them erupt next week!
Please note that next Friday is our Easter R.E. day celebration and the children will be visiting different parts of the school to explore the Easter story in depth. Part of the day will be outside so please make sure that your child is dressed appropriately, including sensible footwear and a waterproof coat. On the same day it is also Red Nose Day, so it is a non-uniform day in return for a donation of £1, which will go towards helping the Comic Relief Charity. Parent helpers are always most welcome on our theme days so if you are able to come in and spend some time with us on Friday, even if you do not normally do so, please do put a note in your child's contact book, half a day or an hour or so - we never turn away helpful hands!
Have a lovely weekend,
The Ash Class Team.
