The children have been very excited about the snow today. Unfortunately the playground and field were like ice so we haven't had a chance to go out and play in it but we enjoyed watching the snow fall this morning.
This week in maths we have been counting in 2s, 5s and 10s, something we need lots of practice doing! We have also started looking at finding 10 more and 10 less, understanding that the number of tens change but the number of ones stay the same. We have been doing this practically with numicon and a 100 square.
In writing we have been concentrating on non-ficiton, which we will continue to do for this half term. The children have researched and collated facts about our class dinosaur (the stegosaurus) and as a class we made a fact page. Our focus for this writing was to use 'and' to extend our sentences. The children will have a go at making their own fact page using 'and' in their sentences next week.
Please pop a note in the contact book if you are happy to have the guinea pigs for a weekend this term.
Please keep sending in red and greed milk bottle tops.
Have a great weekend,
The Beech Team
