This week we have continued focusing on non-fiction in our Literacy. The children have made their own mind maps to gather information about the brachiosaurs, which they will use next week to write another fact page for their information books. We have continued to focus on using 'and' to make our sentences longer by writing descriptive sentences about dinosaurs, and we hope to use this skill when writing our fact pages next week.
In maths we have been using number lines to help us with adding 2, 3 and even 4 numbers together. The children know to start with the biggest number and jump along. We have also been looking at time, focusing on o'clock and half past and looking at money, finding combinations to add up to 20p. We will continue with this next week as well as starting to look at weight. For this we will start with comparing and ordering items based on their weight.
In science we have focused on meat, plants and fruit and vegetables. Thinking about where it all comes from and what it is. This is ready for when we start to learn more about herbivores, carnivores and omnivores.
We are celebrating the children's achievements outside of school and are making a display titled 'I am improving at...'. If you have a photo of your child doing something outside of school that they are improving at, and you are happy for it to go on our display in the hall, please send it in!
Have a great weekend!
