Dear Parents,

Your child’s report was sent home today. Please check their bags!

This week we have been reading and writing poetry. In phonics we have revised homophones words that sound the same but are spelt differently, such as, one and won, here and hear and contractions (don’t can’t doesn’t). In Maths have been continuing to learn fractions ½, ¼ , 1/3 , ¾ . We have introduced symmetry using mirrors and marking the lines of symmetry on a shape (The line of reflection). We have also been learning to tell the time to 5 minutes. We had a great time at the singing workshop and the children enjoyed singing lots of songs about food.

We had a great day for RE day learning about the Easter stories in a variety of ways such as looking at chicks, arts and crafts and time around the fire pit.

Next week we have our trip to Grosvenor Park on Tuesday morning. It is a treat for the children after all their hard work this term. We will be taking packed lunches provided by the school and the children can wear their own clothes (suitable for the park). Next week we will be doing lots of Easter related challenges such as making Easter nests and Easter egg symmetry.  We will be finishing the topic of Dinosaurs by writing our own Dinosaur poems using the suffix est (biggest, tallest etc). The children have thoroughly enjoyed this topic!

The words for next week:  Mr Mrs Miss most only both hour our want doesn’t can’t
