We had a great day today learning about Easter- in the woods, round the fire pit, through Art and making Easter gardens.
In English we have been thinking of ways to describe volcanoes and the children wrote some fantastic volcano shape poems. We focused on descriptive language and introduced the term "adjective." In Maths we have been practising counting in 2s, 5s and 10s and have been making groups of 2, 5 and 10 objects in order to begin to understand multiplication. In DT we have been learning about wheels and axles. The children made a vehicle for a dinosaur thinking carefully about how they fixed the wheel to the vehicle to ensure it moved.
Reports went home today, please find them in your child's bag.
A few reminders about the trip to the park on Monday:
the children need to come to school in their own clothes- suitable for a morning in the park. We are going to be explorers so if they would like to bring a cap or binoculars they can do so. Weather permitting we will have our lunch in the park (the kitchen will provide a pack lunch) and will return to school in the afternoon.
As an end of term treat we are planning to show the film "The Good Dinosaur" which is a PG- if you DO NOT want your child to watch it please let us know.
Have a lovely weekend and a lovely Mothering Sunday to all mums.
