Dear parents

What an exciting week we have had! Our dinosaur egg has hatched and we have been hunting for the baby velociraptor that came out of it! We have made "missing" posters to tell everyone to keep a careful look out for it and we have been writing a diary together describing all the naughty things the baby velociraptor has been doing in the classroom every night when we have gone home! We have been practicing how to write the days of the week and remembering to use a capital letter because they are names. We have also been continuing to write descriptive sentences using a capital letter and a full stop.

On Wednesday we had a very exciting visit from a very big T-Rex- no doubt you have heard all about it!

In Maths we have been practicing our tens and units  and we have been finding the difference between two numbers. We will continue to look at missing number problems next week.

We went on a Spring walk and we found lots of signs that Spring is on the way around our school grounds.

In Science we started looking at groups of animals and are going to continue this next week by learning the names for them, such as "reptile", "mammal" and "amphibian".

Next Thursday is World Book Day and we will be celebrating by sharing stories together. If your child would like to bring in their favourite story, they may do so - please make sure that it is named. In the afternoon, the children will be visiting three different members of staff to hear theree different stories. Please note that we will not be dressing up for World Book Day.

Next week our lunchtime staff will be providing different meals from around the world for the children to enjoy; they will take a special passport to lunch and have it stamped every day.

The children will be taking part in a drama workshop on Tuesday afternoon by a company called Perform for Schools.

If you have not yet done so could you please sign and return the Using the Internet Safely agreement letter that was sent home before half term.

Thank you

Enjoy the weekend
